Content will be covered over 2-1 hour sessions as follows: 

January 9, 2026, 12:00-1:00PM: Review of the CMMC Program & Level 1 Certification 

January 16, 2026, 12:00-1:00PM: Preparing for Level 2 CMMC Certification 

Background: 

To strengthen defense industrial base (DIB) cybersecurity and better protect DoW information, the Department developed the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Program. CMMC assesses defense contractor compliance with existing information safeguarding requirements for federal contract information (FCI) and controlled unclassified information (CUI). 

Phased implementation of CMMC requirements began November 10, 2025. All federal contracts are required to maintain programmatic compliance including achieving CMMC Level 1 certification. Level 2 certification will be required for all contractors November 10, 2026.
